As the title says Got Fogging? Many low budget players as well as players that wear glasses have all encountered fogging of some sorts. A players glasses or the lens of their not so expensive mask can fog up on high humidity days. Over my years of playing paintball I have heard rumors of some very, very, very cheap solutions for this. I decided to put a couple of the cheapest ways to the test this morning while taking my morning shower. I only used the 2 methods I heard the most about well because I only had 2 lenses on my glasses.
The first involves using simple foam shaving cream (not the gel). Apply shaving cream generously to the lens of your glasses or mask (both inside and out), let sit for just a few seconds (no more than 15 seconds), buff the lenses clean using a soft rag or microfiber cloth. Do not wash off with water.
The seconds involves using a mild bar hand soap. Take the bar soap and let it soak in water until the bar gets soft, scrape off the soft soap and mold it into a small ball, apply the soft soap ball generously to the lenses of your glasses or the lens of your mask, allow the soap to harden, buff away the soap residue with a soft rag or microfiber cloth. Do not wash off with water.
When buffing off the treatment of your choice make sure you get all the residue off the lens to prevent blurring. Read all the instruction manuals to your paintball masks to make sure you do not have a thermal lens. If you do these treatments on a thermal lens you will ruin the lens. I hope this will help some of the low budget ballers out there.
