the golden faceplate is removable as well. Perhaps with some modification it can be made to slide up or move.

 Here's a pic of the helmet, for those curious but too lazy to check the link.  This is the rest of the armor that that helmet design goes to. It's from the Heroes Return era, circa 1996 or so. |

The more I look at that armor, the easier it looks to build to me.
Use the pepakura designs for the shinguards...modify pepakura gauntlets...maybe football pads or even the JT paintball chest pad....yeah, I could build that EASY.
