Seeing as how the summary of the comic story was so d**n long I thought it'd be best to make a separate thread for the actual scenario portion.
What began such an idealogical earthquake? A team of 6 super heroes known as The New Warriors were filming a segment of reality TV series in Stamford, Connecticut, to increase their popularity. The segment consisted of foolishly attempting to take down a house full of villains near a school. Unfortunately one of the villains inside, Nitro, had the ability cause explosions.
The ensuing battle between the New Warriors and the house of villains resulted in Nitro’s explosion—along with the explosion of the hundreds of innocent bystanders. Scores of innocent kids were accidentally killed, resulting in more than just bad PR for all super heroes.
Fueled by the pain from the tragic mistake and fresh fear of what other tragedies may occur from super heroes’ accidents, the government pushed the Super Human Registration Act through Congress. This act required all super heroes to give up their secret identities and register their names and powers with the United States government. The super heroes then must choose to give up vigilante justice in place of being used by the government as a crime-fighting tool, or give up using their super powers altogether. The Act did not affect X-Men mutants, who largely stayed neutral during the Civil War.
The Act thoroughly divided rest of the Marvel super hero Universe, drawing big names such as Dr. Strange, the Fantastic 4, Spider-Man and the Avengers to take sides. The pro-registration team was headed my billionaire Iron Man (Tony Stark) and included Mr. Fantastic, Bishop, She-Hulk, the Wasp. A number of other heroes including Spider-Man eventually defected to the anti-registration side. The anti-registration side was symbolically led by Captain America and included super heroes Daredevil, Invisible Woman, and Storm.
Iron Man’s team felt they were working for the greater good by preventing more instances of accidental violence, while Captain America’s team of underdog resisters fought to restore civil rights. Iron Man was backed the government super hero peace-keeping task force known as S.H.I.E.L.D., who helped Iron Man round up non-registered heroes in order to lock them a super secure prison until they gave in to registering.
PRO-REGISTRATION FORCES
Iron-Man (General)
Mr. Fantastic
Yellowjacket
Thor-Clone
Ms.Marvel
She-Hulk
ANTI-REGISTRATION FORCES
Captain America (General)
Luke Cage
Wolverine
Hercules
Falcon
Cable
Cloak
Dagger
More to be added in later on. Characters will all have a one time in game use of a super-power, aside from Generals, their powers will always be "ON".
Missions will involve capturing and holding strategic points, prop acquisitions, a prison break and more.
