Found some supposed costume design photos online last night. Looks about right from what director Joe Johnston's been saying about the costume in interviews regarding its construction in-film... It's alright, I suppose. Fits in well with what the Marvel Movie-Universe has looked like so far, though I have a few minor points... 1. The boots and gloves need to be RED 2. Looks too modernish for a WW2 costume 3. WHERE'S THE WINGS ON MY HEAD?! Supposedly the wings'll be added with CGI due to them not looking right as an actual portion built on the mask. Not sure on the factual validity of that, however. CAST so Far Chris Evans as Captain America/Steve Rogers Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury Hugo Weaving as Red Skull/Johann Schmidt Hayley Atwell as Agent 13/Peggy Carter Sebastian Stan as James "Bucky" Barnes Toby Jones as Arnim Zola Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan Tommy Lee Jones as Colonel Chester Philips Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark Stanley Tucci as Dr. Abraham Erskine Set for release on July 11, 2011

Tin Man co-star Neal McDonough has confirmed a report from late last week that he’ll play Dum Dum Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger.
“It’s going to be a blast with Chris [Evans], Sam Jackson, Tommy Lee Jones and everyone else,” McDonough said Sunday outside the MTV Movie Awards. “It’s going to be fantastic. We’re going to tear it up!”
That makes him the second cast member to confirm rumors of Jones’ involvement in Captain America. There’s nothing official yet, but IMDB.com and other online outlets say Jones will play Gen. Chester Phillips, the officer who handpicks Steve Rogers for the Operation Reborn experiment.
Timothy Aloysius Cadwallader “Dum Dum” Dugan is a marksman and former circus strongman who was one of Sgt. Nick Fury’s Howling Commandos and, later, a SHIELD agent. McDonough told MTV he is already working on Dugan’s trademark mustache, and plans to don the character’s bowler hat.
However, he said Fury’s elite team may not be known as the Howling Commandos in the film (in the comics the official name of the unit was the First Attack Squad).
“I’m not sure at this point. It may change — I’m reading a few things that it might change,” McDonough. “But at this point, it still is. All I know is that I’m going to kick some butt and it’s going to be a blast.”
McDonough appeared in Star Trek: First Contact, Ravenous, Band of Brothers, Boomtown and Desperate Housewives, and was the voice of Bruce Banner in the 1996-1997 Incredible Hulk animated series.
He joins Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Toby Jones, Stanley Tucci and, apparently, Tommy Lee Jones in the Joe Johnston-directed adaptation. Captain America: The First Avenger is due in theaters on July 22, 2011.

There wouldn't be a Super Soldier serum without the scientist who invented it, now we have one!
Marvel Studios announced that Oscar® nominated actor Stanley Tucci has been cast to star as Dr. Abraham Erskine in "Captain America: The First Avenger" opposite Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Hugo Weaving, and Hayley Atwell.
In the early comics, Dr. Erskine was a German scientist behind Project Rebirth, the secret experiment that created the Super Soldier known as Captain America.
Tucci’s credits include "Julie & Julia," Peter Jackson’s "The Lovely Bones," for which he was nominated for an Academy Award, and "The Devil Wears Prada." He can next be seen in the upcoming comedy "Easy A" as well as the upcoming movie musical "Burlesque."
Marvel Studios announced that Hugo Weaving has been cast to star as Johann Schmidt aka the Red Skull in the studio's highly anticipated movie "Captain America: The First Avenger" opposite Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell. In the early comics, Johann Schmidt was drafted into loyal service of The Third Reich and renamed "The Red Skull." The character will be updated for the feature adaptation.

It’s chunky, runs the risk of looking flashy and cool – That’s what Captain America: The First Avenger star Chris Evans thinks about his new costume as America’s favorite Nazi-fightin’ superhero. He’s also been talking about the shield…
Talking to Empire Magazine, the former Human Torch described how happy he was with the costume:
It doesn’t exactly breathe the way the Fantastic Four costume breathed, but it’s the way it should be. Any type of World War II uniform would be a little chunky, and I think that’s what kind of gives it its character… It’s an amazing costume. Given the fact that his costume is red, white and blue, and it’s tight, and it could be kind of flash and over the top – and given the fact that the movie takes place in the ‘40s and ‘50s – they’ve done a really good job of making it look really cool. I think everyone that’s going to see it is going to say, ‘Okay, well done. Well done. I think they got the costume right. The casting they completely ruined, but the costume they nailed!’
He added,
We’ve been testing a lot of shields. Last time I was in London they had six shields and I had to hold each one, see if I was comfortable with each one, see which one we all thought had the right look. The thing is pretty heavy, so I’m not sure I can throw it that far! I’ll give it my best shot, but hopefully they’ll have some sort of stunt shield when it comes to actually chucking it!
Stunt shield? I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a stunt Cap for those scenes, as well…
