We have the New Avengers, which is the street level, real worldish team. The Roster currently includes: Captain America (Bucky Barnes), Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Wolverine, Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Ronin (Clint Barton), Mockingbird, Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew), Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers), and Iron Fist.
We also have Mighty Avengers, which is a classic, global threat type team. The Roster presently includes Wasp (Hank Pym), US Agent, Hercules,Jocasta and Scarlet Witch (who has turned out to be Loki in disguise). The current storyline seems to be building to a stable line up.
The Dark Avengers consists of Sentry, Ares, Noh-Varr as Captain Marvel, and the disguised supervillains Moonstone portraying Ms. Marvel, Venom portraying Spider-Man, and Bullseye portraying Hawkeye; Wolverine's disgruntled son Daken portraying Wolverine; and Osborn himself as an Iron Man-like new persona, the Iron Patriot.
Lastly, we have Avengers: The Initiative, the training the heroes of tomorrow type book. Tigra seems to be the new head of the training school now.
So with four books under the umbrella of the Avengers, it seems a good time to be an Avengers fan. Granted, they're of varying quality but still, 4 books to choose from....

I got the 1st issue of Dark Avengers this afternoon. Interesting, to say the least, but in all honesty, it's the Thunderbolts concept all over again...villains masquerade as heroes to gain public trust. This time, however, instead of creating NEW personas, most of the villains involved are usurping established Avengers' identities. I plan to give it the first story arc or so to see how it builds up but other than that, I'm not sure how long I'll read the book for. I also got #21 of Mighty Avengers today. THIS was good. Really good, actually. This book is where Hank Pym is going to be redeemed, in a BIG BIG way, I think. He's become the new Wasp and is now the leader of the Avengers in the Mighty title. And his new toy, the Pym Pockets, is a really cool idea. Sub Space pockets that can be used to hide out outside regualr time and space AND can be used to instantly teleport anywhere he wants. Pym Pockets are cool as all hell. Nuff said. Anyone who wants to check out the books, let me know. You all know where I live, after all.
