Ok so I've been harassed about posting up something about a 3 man tourney the Avengers have been invited to, so here is what I know so far. The tourney will be held at Hilltop Paintball, I haven't heard back from the owner as to what dates they are going to hold it on but here is what I know for right now.
3 MAN SPEEDBALL TOURNAMENT -
OPEN CLASS
$60.00/TEAM (pre-registered)…THEREAFTER $75.00/TEAM
100% CASH PAYOUT FOR 1st PLACE (not sure of what amount)
TROPHIES FOR 1st, 2nd & 3rd PLACE TEAMS
TEAMS CAPPED AT 10,
$60.00 FIELD PAINT
TEAMS WILL NEED TO BRING EXTRA PLAYER FOR SUB, HAVE A
SNAKE SIDE COACH, AS WELL AS A HEAD COACH.
Right now also there are 3 other teams besides ours that have been invited. One of which is our old friend Rick's team that he has assembled. I will be e-mailing Hilltop's owner in the very near future as to when the tourney is going to be and to any other details of the game he can offer. Hope this helps everyone for now and stay tuned for more news to come.

Unfortunately the tourney never got off the ground for the late season due to lack of interest. The owner of the field has invited us to the field next year for both open play and special events. I hope we all can rally together and travel to Hilltop Paintball for next season.

Even if all we did was go up to observe their operations it would be worthwhile.
I too am curious as to why so many of Hilltop's regulars defected to Lash's over the summer of '09.

See I find it awful fishy that they just all of a sudden showed up at Lash's then gradually stopped coming.

True enough there. I do remember one fellow telling me he hated the pricing at Hilltop and the whole field fee and only paint by the case deal. Perhaps they changed the policy and thus made it enticing to frequent their field again? I know it was a bit of a haul for that particular crew to come out to Lash's.

They were from Canjo so Hilltop would be closer to them. I'm not sure if what they were saying was true or not. They could have been "spies" for Hilltop. We may never know.

Meh...I don't care either way, to be completely honest about it. Just another group of targets so far as I am concerned. The spy theory wouldn't shock me at all in the slightest if it were to turn out to be the truth of the matter.

Most pay fields are run as Hill Top. Pay for field, and case paint. Down near Poughkeepsie, the fields are such. Lash's is the true oddball in the mix.

From what I understand Lash's is more than an oddball when it comes to fields, let's narrow it down a little. Most fields have actual Refs, a real pro shop, an actual cafe, Lash's has none of that. Lash's rely on volunteers for for all that and now it's getting to the point that now they all are only about the money. It is a wannabe paintball field. |
