One of the country's biggest scenario games is being held on July 18-19 in Jim Thorpe, PA. It's roughly about 4.5 hrs drive. Tickets are sold in advance due to the shear mass of people. I believe $15 preregistration is needed. Field paint is required, discounts given when purchased in bulk. Info can be found at www.skirmish.com

The fellas I'm going with say about $300 will cover Ticket/Registration, food, gas and like 2-3 cases of paint, to give you all a ball park figure.

WOW that would be cool but I'm not sure what my agenda is as far as workand schooling would be then but as of right now I'm in. I will shoot for a figure around the area of Vision's and say $500 also. We could take my truck down. More room in it for equipment and such.

Cool beans!! The truck would help out immensely. I'm planning on bringing my own car too just in case we get a lot more players to come with.

Now that is a lot of players in 1 area at 1 time. It sounds like a great time. I will be bringing both markers but not sure which one to use.

That's cool but with any luck we won't need that much space to use. 'Course is we get too many passengers then they could be strapped up there, lol.

Cool. We're planning this as a joint thing with Team HDC ( Human Demolition Corps). They're bringing at least one car and three people. The more the merrier, I say.
It's in July, so you should be cool for school schedule, Shell Head. Work, maybe not. I know for my job, I just need to give like a week's notice. I plan on giving a bit more though, to be on the safe side of things.

Well unless we get some more people, I'll forgo using my vehicle; as it would be rather wasteful for fuel and available drivers.

Yeah. I know the current plan is to leave on the Thursday before so we get there for the free Friday Castle Conquest for pre-regs. Whether said plan holds...well, July is 5 months off yet...

That would be cool. I may need to bring the kids and a babysitter. The kids don't really get to go to these kind of things and it may be kinda exciting for them.

Main problem with that is that Skirmish would make you pay entry for them, too. B.S. but that's what they'd do, I'm positive. You'd be best off leaving them here with a sitter, to be honest.

I have e-mailed Skirmish for some details on The Invasion of Normandy and I'm hoping for a speedy response on to prices, campgrounds and what not.

I just emailed Skirmish about the cost for spectators. Hopefully they give an answer soon.

I found the Jim Thorpe camping ground and it's like 30 min. from Skirmish Paintball. Here is their website link. You can get the rates and everything from here. www.jimthorpecamping.com/index.html

From what HDC says, you camp right there on Skirmish grounds. There's campsites and all that. If we do it right, we can have a large area for everyone. If we take 2 or 3 vehicles, well, if we wrangle it right at the field, we'd get then 2 or3 consecutive camp sites to commandeer. ;D We'd have our own d**n command center. LOL

lmao, Its just like you to think full on Command Center, lol. But heck, if we can get reservations lets do it and get at least 2-3 sites. Granted its still 5 months off, but if they do take reservations, then we can't act too soon. I know the DEC Campgrounds around here start taking reservations 11 months in advance.

LOL No offense but with the amount of people they are "planning" on having to show up we would be lucky to get a spot on the grounds. We would probably be better off getting a place off the grounds nearby. It may be a little more expensive but it may be better off for us, JMO.

you'd have to pay admission again if we left though. If we go down early like we're planning, we'll be fine, from what Zac and Luke from HDC say, and Zac's gone to ION/D-Day every year but two since its inception.

Well that is f*****g bulls**t! In my opinion that isn't a very good way to run a business. If that is the case then we better leave early Thursday morning take in some sites around PA and get our campsites and call it. They still haven't gotten back to me on the email I sent neither. I tell ya what for the $59 per person registration fee they should let you come and go when you want. I guess I'm just aggravated about a few things about it.

Please pardon my previous post here. One thing I do recommended is that before we go we each make a small inventory list of what we are bringing and label all our stuff with names. I've heard horror stories of scumbags stealing stuff at these kind of things.

I've heard horror stories of scumbags stealing stuff at these kind of things. I agree about the IDing of all our crap. Working at campsites for 6 years has proven just how movable objects can be. Personally, I'll be thinking about dismantling my tent and locking it in my car when not in use.

good call on the breaking down the tents.
One thing to remember...with 3-5000 people attending, which IS the ION/D-Day norm, it's hard to police these things and events like this are ALL about cash for the fields. Skirmish makes millions just off of ION paint sales, for example.
