This is prevalent in every variety of paintball from what I've seen and it bothers me to no end. I'm talking about the guys who run up to the first place of available cover and then STAY there and refuse to advance their positioning. It's a common thing at Lash's, for example, and anyone who plays there knows I've been vocal about it up there. That and my "it's not the gun" rant. Tactically, this is immensely stupid. Your opponents will very quickly pin point your location and if they're even semi-intelligent, it won't be hard to execute a simple wedge and box you in and eliminate you. Bottom line...movement is a key to success, no matter WHAT variety of paintball you play. If you stay moving, you can get into better positions to attack from and make it harder for your foes to zero in on you and attack you.

There was quite a few kids up there that wouldn't move. 1 kid still never moved and stopped going up there. Some of them started to move and started to do a lot better but there is some of us that have an "Extra" amount of us that prevents us from moving too much...lol. In the game of paintball players need to take some BROAD strokes to make stuff happen. Players don't do this at Lash's because of players that have hopped up Invert Mini's that shoot more than 285 fps. Not mentioning any names but he's around 6ft 5in. The reason that they shoot faster than that is because they crono them once and never again after that.

Technically, we're all supposed to chrono before EVERY single game we play, especially with those using CO2. CO2 is an unstable gas and will fluctuate and is subject to many uncontrollable outside factors, like ambient temperatures, relative humidity and such. But yeah, I know exactly who you mean, IM. I believe I shot his Mini toting ass out with my little pistol more than once.

Don't blame it on the gun. Blame it on the sucker that thinks his gun is the crap. With my taxes I plan to gain advantage of a faster speedball gun, but with my tactical know how, I'll be able to put many of those suckers on the defensive, hehehe.

Basically, I wish to pick and choose my weapon for the task at hand. Think about it, you wouldn't want to bring a shotgun to fend off a tank- you'd want a rocketlauncher. But then again you wouldn't want to use an RPG inside a structure, thats just asking for trouble. In close confines you'd need something lighter and faster.
At present I stand with an A5 assualt rifle style gun, best for woods and outer urban areas, and a Spyder Pilot which is better suited for the close range combat. I intend to sideline my Spyder as a spare soon.
I also have 2 other spares, which I will pull out in either drastic circumstances or if another wishes to try the sport.
I say all this but when it comes down to it, tactics is everything. Sure if Cap here was to get his hands on a Mini, he'd be a nightmare and then some. But that's because of HOW he plays.
I myself have a variant of playstyle. I fully adjust my tactics to the task at hand, to the equipment I have available and the environment we play in. As said several times, Tactics is the key to winning.

Yes, but Cap doesn't WANT to dirty his hands with a mini. LOL
I'm content to use my ACP forever and ever. At best, I'll mod the pistol a little more but that's about it. I see no need to buy myself anything else. Call me crazy if you like, but I think a good chunk of my play style comes from the fact I use a pistol and carry little to no extra paint.
